The radius of a circleis part of the circumference formula: C = 2 pi r.
So we rearrange the formula: r = c/2 pi.
Now we have to figure out the circumference. If the outside of the circle is 12 cm for 17degrees, then17 degrees x what is 360 degrees? 360 divided by 17 is 21.2. So the 12 cm should be multiplied by 21.2, to give 254.1cm. This is our circumference.
Now we do r = 254/2 pi.
                   r = 40.46cm.

For the triangle, the shaded part, both the height and base are 12, so the area of it is:

1/2 (12 x 12) = 72

And the area of the whole square is 144

But what we’re looking for is the area of the unshaded region. So to find it, we’ll need to subtract the shaded from the total. So:

144 - 72 = 72

Thus, the area of the unshaded region is 72

Natali [406]

Answer:

he have left 4.45 kg

Step-by-step explanation:

The computation of he have left is as follows:

= Total salt purchase - salt used on his sidewalk - sales used on the driveway

= 10 - 1 \frac{3}{4} - 3 \frac{4}{5}\\\\= 10 - \frac{7}{4} - \frac{19}{5}\\\\= \frac{200 - 35 -76 }{20}  \\\\= \frac{89}{20}

= 4.45 kg

Hence, he have left 4.45 kg

Elodia [21]

Answer:

AC=\sqrt{13}

Step-by-step explanation:

As the the length of the segments BC = AC, so the triangle ABC must be an isosceles triangle.

As CD ⊥ AB, it means the base AB gets bisected by CD, making two congruent angles named as ∠ACD and ∠BCD. As shown in attached figure.

CD bisecting the base AB into two equal parts means if AB = 4, then

the length of AD = 2 and the length of DB = 2. Hence, AD = DB

As BC = AC, it means these two equal sides of isosceles triangle would make equal angles on the opposite side. Hence, angle ∠A and ∠B would be equal as shown in attached figure.

As CD is bisecting the base AB into two equal parts. Hence, it can be treated as the part of two right triangles named  ACD and BCD.

So, the length of AC can be easily determined using using the Pythagoras formula.

So,

     c² = a² + b²

     c=\sqrt{a^{2}+b^{2}}

     AC=\sqrt{2^{2}+3^{2}}

     AC=\sqrt{9+4}}

     AC=\sqrt{13}}

Hence AC=\sqrt{13}
