The outcome was that it was enabled for Native Americans to regain some sovereignty, mostly coming to tribal affairs. It stated that the states like Georgia did, have no right to deal with tribes and Natives and that only the federal government can do that. This didn't affect the Trail of Tears however even though it happened at the same time approximately.
