Scenario 2
Inga [223]

Answer:

Here I go then...

Explanation:

I have recently received multiple complaints about the hygienic situation in regards to the bathroom. Many complaints have been filed detailing that several toilets are out of service, toilet paper can be found on the floor, and the general level of cleanliness in the bathroom is unacceptable. Multiple parents have been threatening to withdraw their children due to these sanitary issues. I recommend rectifying these issues immediately. Hiring a janitor would yield the most results, although since it isn't cost effective, I recommend adding a small bonus in staff wages for doing a cleanup of the bathroom as part of their daily routine.

How should this sentence be changed?
saveliy_v [14]

Answer:

C. Add a period after fossil

Explanation:

The reader can easily deduce that this is a run-on sentence.

"Look at this fossil," Is a full stop on itself, and the thought can end there.

The next phrase can be continued in a separate sentence by itself.

Many people seem to be confused as to why the answer isn't B, and I'll gladly explain why!

The sentence goes, "Look at this fossil I bought it at the gift shop.."

"It," causes the sentence to become a run-on, and therefore isn't grammatically correct.

However, if the sentence said, "Look at this fossil I bought at the gift shop," then it would have no need to be changed, as it is a full sentence in itself with no run-on.

Another thing to note is that some of you may be thinking, "But (insert grammar checker) said it was fine by itself!"

I'm sorry to break it to you, but a grammar checker doesn't have 100% guaranteed results. Many grammar checkers do not possess the ability to catch run-on sentences and are not a credible source of information.

I hope this clears things up!

How are the moods of "Because I Could Not Stop for Death" and "Some Keep the Sabbath Going to Church" different? What does the u
Korvikt [17]

The question are missing the answer choices. I was able to find them online. They are the following:

1. How are the mood of "Because I Could Not Stop for Death" and "Some Keep the Sabbath Going to Church" different?

A. The former has an anxious mood, while the latter has a joyful mood.

B. The former has a serious mood, while the latter has a lighter mood.

C. The former has an angry mood, while the latter has a celebratory mood.

D. The former has a tense mood, while the latter has a suspenseful mood.

2. What does the use of the words "orchard" and "dome" suggest?

A. That the speaker believes that faith can be glimpsed only in the natural world.

B. That the speaker's innocence allows her to see religion as an extension of nature.

C. That the speaker is able to see and feel her faith in everything that surrounds her.

D. That the speaker only feels close to her faith when she is enjoying the world of nature.

Answer:

1. The moods are different in the sense that:

B. The former has a serious mood, while the latter has a lighter mood.

2. The use of the words suggests:

C. That the speaker is able to see and feel her faith in everything that surrounds her.

Explanation:

Emily Dickinson was an American lyric poet who lived from 1830 to 1886.

1. In her poem "Because I Could Not Stop for Death," Dickinson uses personification to describe Death as a kind man who comes to take her with him. The mood of this poem is serious, somber. She describes their journey together as peaceful but also as grave. On the other hand, the poem "Some Keep the Sabbath Going to Church" is a much lighter one. The speaker claims she does not need to go church to keep her faith. Her own home is Heaven; nature itself is paradise.

2. In the second poem, Dickinson says the orchard outside her house serves as the dome of a church. What she means is that faith is in everything. She does not need to go church because, through her faith, church comes to her as her own home and orchard. There is no reason to go somewhere to find God, for she can feel His presence where she lives.
