The following scores represent the final examination grades for an elementary statistics course: 23 60 79 32 57 74 52 70 82 36 80
baherus [9]

Answer:

a)  The decimal point is 1 digit(s) to the right of the |

  0 | 6

 1 | 0

 2 | 35

 3 | 26

 4 | 1

 5 | 2257

 6 | 045

 7 | 0456789

 8 | 001125

 9 | 258

b) The relative frequency histogram as attached diagram.

As shown, the plot is skewed to the left.

c)

i) mean = 62.7

ii) median = 72

iii) Standard deviation = 24.87923

Step-by-step explanation:

a) The first approach is to sort the data in ascending or descending order. Next, we Identify the minimum grade and the maximum grade. We then list the stems based on the minimum and maximum. And we construct the stem and leaf diagram as show. The first digit represents the stem and the last digit represents the leaf.

As shown, all the grade are two digits value, with minimum as 06 and maximum as 98. In this case, the first stem is 0 and the last stem is 9.

Others (b & c) are just the usual calculations.

What is the slope of the line represented by the points in the table shown below?
Finger [1]

Answer:  Slope of the line formed by the data is -3.

m=-3    for    y=mx+b.

Step-by-step explanation:  The slope is the change in y (the rise) divided by the change in x (the run) between two points on the line.  I'll pick 2 points:  (-4,17) and (9,-22).  Any two points will work, if it is a straight line.  For these points, y, the rise, changes from 17 to -22, for a net change of (-22 - 17) = -39 for y.  x, the run, goes from -4 to 9, for a change in x of (9 - (-4)) = 13.

The rise(y) over the run(x) for these points is thus (-39/13) = -3

The slope is -3

Find the rule and the graph of the function whose graph can be obtained by performing the translation 3 units left and 2 units d
Vsevolod [243]

Let

g(x)--------> the translation of the function f(x)

we know that

the rule of the translation is

3 units left and 2 units down

that means

(x,y)-------> (x-3,y-2)

so

In the function f(x) the point (0,0) is equal at the point  (-3,-2) in the function g(x)

therefore

the function g(x) is equal to

g(x)=f(x+3)-2

g(x)=(x+3)^{3} -2

<u>The answer is</u>

a) the rule of the translation is (x,y)-------> (x-3,y-2)

b) The graph in the attached figure

3 geometry questions, 30 points!
polet [3.4K]

Answer:

A ) The value of x for  the given circle with chords and center is 8.3

B) The circumference of circle with chords 1.2 cm and 0.5 cm is 4.082

Step-by-step explanation:

Given two figures :

<u>For Figure first  </u>

A circle with center y ,  having two chords FM and NM

FM = 5 x

MN = 2 x + 25

Now from theorem of circle ,

Chords equidistant from center of circle are equal in length

I.e distance of chord MN from center y  and distance of FM from center y are equal

So, FM = MN

Or, 5 x = 2 x + 25

Or, 5 x - 2 x = 25

Or, 3 x = 25

∴       x = \frac{25}{3} = 8.33

<u>For figure second</u>

The length of two adjacent chords of circle is 1.2 cm and 0.5 cm

Let the center of circle = O

Length of chord AB = 1.2 cm

Length of chord BC = 0.5 cm

As both chords are at 90° to each other

So The Length of diameter of circle AC = \sqrt{AB^{2}+BC^{2}}

Or, The Length of diameter of circle AC = \sqrt{1.2^{2}+0.5^{2}}

Or, The Length of diameter of circle AC = \sqrt{1.44+0.25}}

Or, The Length of diameter of circle AC = \sqrt{1.69}

∴ The Length of diameter of circle AC = 1.3 cm

So, Circumference of circle = \pi d

Or, Circumference of circle = 3.14 × 1.3

∴ Circumference of circle = 4.082 cm

Hence,

A ) The value of x for  the given circle with chords and center is 8.3

B) The circumference of circle with chords 1.2 cm and 0.5 cm is 4.082 Answer
