The major theatres of the Russo-Japanese War were:

 • Port Arthur;
 • Liaodong Peninsula;
 • Mukden;
 • Yellow sea;
 • Tsushima Straits;
 • along the railway line from Port Arthur to Harbin.

The Russians were constantly looking for a warm water port in the Pacific Ocean, not just for maritime trade but also for their navy. They had already established the Pacific seaport of Vladivostok, it was the only active Russian port. But it was only operational during the summer season. Port Arthur, on the other hand, would give them the chance to be operational all year. Negotiations didn't work between the Tsar's government and Japan, so the Japanese chose to go to war to maintain exclusive control over Korea and Manchuria.

Although the Japanese won multiple battles, Tsar Nicholas II believed Russia would win the war. He chose to remain engaged in the war, but the Japanese continued to defeat the Russians. The war concluded when both countries signed the Treaty of Portsmouth, mediated by Theodore Roosevelt, president of the US. Needless to say, Japan won the war.

In 1973, arab members of the organization of the petroleum exporting countries (opec) blocked oil shipments to the united states
Kamila [148]
A. To protest U.S. support for Israel
The United States supported Israel since the end of WWll when it was created as a homeland for Jews displaced during the war. Almost all of the other Middle Eastern countries hated Israel because they were Muslims and Israel was made up of Jews. And they also favored Palestine which was the country that Israel was made of. European officials literally told Palestine that they no longer owned that tract of land because it was Israel's now. In the 1970's the United States increased it's aid to Israel which enraged OPEC and they placed an oil embargo on America which increased the price of gas and further added to the economic hardships facing the country at the time.
