The campaign finance laws restrict the power of corporations and unions because they limit their capacity to do lobbying. Corporation and unions base much of their power in their faculty to influence members of the congress, secretaries of the government and important people of the political world, Lobbying is not ilegal in the USA. When laws state that there are caps for contributions for political campaigns they somehow limit the power of Lobbying doers. The logic behind limiting laws is that authorities have to work for people not for groups of people.
