How did the religious practice of the maya compare to olmec religion
AlekseyPX

Answer:

A

The Olmec were polythestic, the Maya were monotheistic

Explanation:

Traditional Maya religion, though also representing a belief system, is often referred to as costumbre, the 'custom' or habitual religious practice, in contradistinction to orthodox Roman Catholic ritual.

The religion of the Olmec people significantly influenced the social development and mythological world view of Mesoamerica. Scholars have seen echoes of Olmec supernatural in the subsequent religions and mythologies of nearly all later pre-Columbian era Banded-eye God (God IV) Feathered Serpent (God V) Fish or Shark Monster (God VI) cultures.

The first Mesoamerican civilization, the Olmecs, developed on present-day Mexico southern Gulf Coast in the centuries before 1200 BCE. The culture lasted until roughly 400 BCE, at which time their center of La Venta lay abandoned. The Olmec culture is often considered a "mother culture" to later Mesoamerican cultures.

There is no surviving direct account of the Olmec's religious beliefs, unlike the Mayan Popol Vuh, or the Aztecs, with their many codices and conquistador accounts.

Archaeologists, therefore, have had to rely on other techniques to reconstruct Olmec beliefs, most prominently:[1]

Typological analysis of Olmec iconography and art.

Comparison to later, better documented pre-Columbian cultures.

Comparison to modern-day cultures of the indigenous peoples of the Americas.

The latter two techniques assume that there is a continuity extending from Olmec times through later Mesoamerican cultures to the present day. This assumption is called the Continuity Hypothesis. Using these techniques, researchers have discerned several separate deities or supernaturals embodying the characteristics of various animals.

Events that have threatened english language
sveta [45]
I believe those events are:
 - Brtish Conflicts with the French Empire
- The world war
- Nordic invasion toward England

Most popular languages in the world would represent the most dominant culture that currently exist in the world.
Every conflict with another nations could cause the shift existing dominant culture and could threaten the language of the current dominant culture.

WHY WAS AGRICULTURE AN INNOVATION?!!
Debora [2.8K]

Agriculture was an innovation because simply put, it gave the foundation for civilization. Without it, it would NOT be so easy as it is today to get food.

There were many positive outcomes of this innovation. One positive outcome is that agriculture really helps reduce poverty levels. Another positive outcome is that it provides employment opportunities for many people in rural areas. Obviously another positive outcome is that agriculture provides food to people everywhere.

Although there are many positive outcomes of agriculture, there are just as many negative outcomes. One negative outcome of agriculture is that it contributes to habitat loss. To open areas for agriculture, woods, jungles, and so many other biomes are just demolished. Agriculture also uses a LOT of water, so much so that it comes to the point of being wasteful. Agriculture also contributes to soil erosion.
