A major role belongs to the monsoons

Monsoons are winds with huge amounts of precipitation and are extremely important for India because they irrigate the land which means that they provide the land with much needed water for plants to grow because of the high amount of rain that they carry with themselves. They are seasonal so they always help when they are needed.

By 1940 Britain had the worlds largest navy. The royal navy was located throughout the world yet it still had a very powerful home fleet. The German navy was unfunded and small.
