Answer:

The West of United States, extending from the top corner of Washington, through California and into parts of Nevada, Utah, Colorado, and Idaho, was home to a diverse array of Native American groups living off bountiful natural resources much before Lewis and Clark ever discovered the region’s riches. It is hard to generalize about the cultural practices of native groups in the West since the climate and resources varied immensely, creating microenvironments which different groups used to advantage. Some tribes that lived in the Pacific Northwest include the Makah and the Kwakiutl people. Over one hundred federally-recognized tribes lived in modern California. The Great Basin—the vast expanse of land between the Rocky Mountains and the Sierra Nevadas—was home to the Mono, Paiute, Bannock, Shoshone, Ute, and Gosiute peoples, among others.

How did the Grangers, who were
zhuklara [117]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Although there are no options provided, we can say the following.

The Grangers, who were largely poor farmers, battled with the giant railroad companies by inviting people to join them to take political actions so the government could hear their demands. The Grangers supported politicians who wanted to run for office or be representatives. Grangers wanted legislators to support legislation that could help in resolving their problems. After so much hard work and effort, Congressmen passed legislation that established maximum freight rates, passenger rates and did not allow any kind of discrimination. For this to happen, Grangers had to get the support from farmers in the Southeast, west, and midwest of the United States.

During the Cold War, people were afraid of communists, both outside and inside the United States. The Red Scare and McCarthyism
Anastaziya [24]
Well the lessons we can learn is how quickly our fragile freedoms can be overcome. McCarthy rose to power in 1950 of a tsunami of anti-communist hysteria, brandishing a lost of "known communists" in the State Department, and held public trials to enhance his political clout. He had fallen from power but only when his attacks were against the U.S. Army broadcast to millions of Americans to their homes exposing his indecent persecution of the innocence of people. The Senate censured him in December 1954 Disgraced and Discredited, he had died three years later at the age of 47..I hope my answer has helped you.. good day to you..

One thread running through our conversations during the first half of this course is development of American political thought.
Dimas [21]

Answer:

Explained below

Explanation:

American political thought emerged from Europe's beliefs and attitudes towards self rule. John Locke's theory of social contract served as an impetus to the movement regarding God-given rights to life, liberty, and property.

Long enshrined Colonial belief that people should govern themselves led to the call for independence in America. It draws inspiration from British empire but provides its own definition. The colonists were convinced that British Parliament is denying their natural rights that reduced their status as free men. American Revolution began with the desire to limit authoritarian government which is closely linked to the the idea of self governance.

Important events that led to American Revolution:

1) Imposition of Direct Taxes - Stamp Act (1765) and Townshend Acts (1767)

2) Boston Massacre, March 5, 1770- The resistance to British rule in the colony of Massachusetts that killed many Americans.

3) Coercive Acts 1774- abolished town meetings in Massachusetts to punish for the rebellion against the British crown.

4) First Continental Congress- created a unified resistance against the Colony.

5) Declaration of Independence, July 2, 1776- Congress declared American independence from Britain drafted by Thomas Jefferson

6) American Independence- the Declaration of Independence was signed on 4th July, 1776
