The answer is; El Nino

El Nino is caused when the surface water in the Pacific Oceans becomes warmer than usual. Since the hydrosphere interacts with the atmosphere, the atmosphere above the Pacific also warms up and become more humid. Easterly winds  weaken and the westerlies strengthen hence dumping much rain in Americas and drying up Asia.
