Question 5 id points
NARA [144]

Probability of winning a grand prize is 1/10

Probability of winning a basic prize is 11/20

What is the probability of two independent events?

If A and B are two independent events, then P(A and B) = P(A) * P(B).

If Events A and B are independent, the probability that either Event A or Event B occurs is: P(A or B) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A and B).

Solution:

P(A) = no. of A / total possibility

      = 4/10

P(B) = no. of 1's/total possibility

      = 3/12

     =  1/4

Now,

To win a grand prize you need an "A" and "1" .

∴ P(A and B) = P(A) × P(B)

                    = 4/10 × 1/4

         P(A and B) = 1/10

Now ,

To win a basic prize you need to spin an "A" or a "1"

∴ P(A or B) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A and B)

                  = 4/10 + 1/4 - 1/10

                  = 3/10 + 1/4

∴ P(A or B)=  11/20

PLEASE HELP: p(t)=1.8^t
Karo-lina-s [1.5K]
<h3>Initial amount = 1</h3><h3>Rate of growth = 80 %</h3><h3>The value is 18.9 when t = 5</h3>

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

<em><u>The given exponential function is:</u></em>

p(t) = 1.8^t

<em><u>The exponential function is given as:</u></em>

y = a(1+r)^t

Where,

y is the future value

a is the initial value

r is the growth rate

t is the number of years

<em><u>Compare both the functions,</u></em>

a = 1

1+r = 1.8\\\\r = 1.8 - 1\\\\r = 0.8

Thus growth rate is:

r = 0.8 = 0.8 \times 100 \% = 80 \%<em><u></u></em>

<em><u>Evaluate the function when t = 5</u></em>

Substitute t = 5 in given

p(5) = 1.8^5\\\\p(5) = 18.89568 \approx 18.9

Thus the value is 18.9 when t = 5

Need help plz thanks I need help with the other probs I posted under the name YasElm
rodikova [14]
Since they are alternate interior angles, they will be congruent with each other.

4x= 5x-30

Subtract 5x on each side.

-1x= -30

Divide -1 into both sides.

x= 30

Now just plug in 30 too (4x) for the angle measure of both sides.

4*30 = 120

Each angle is equal to 120.

Hope this helps!
