You are doing an experiment in which you are using an in vitro translation system derived from rabbit reticulocytes, called a ra

bbit reticulocyte lysate, to translate mRNA in a test tube. The rabbit reticulocyte lysate contains ribosomes, translation initiation and elongation factors, tRNAs, aminoacyl tRNA synthetases, release factors, amino acids, and ATP. The lysate does not contain any mRNA, so you must add the mRNA you would like to translate to the system. A. When you analyze the proteins made from your lysate, you find that they are all only two amino acids long. At first, you think that there must be a mutation to a stop codon in the position of the third codon, so you do another experiment with a different mRNA. Again, all the newly synthesized proteins are only two amino acids long, so you conclude that there is a problem with some component in your lysate.
Describe ONE possible problem in the translation system (lysate) that would result in the limitation of newly synthesized peptides to two amino acids in length.

Answer:

Problems with transfection efficiency or absence of essential mRNA modifications (capping and poly-A tail)

Explanation:

Translation is the process of protein synthesis from RNA in which the genetic information encoded in a messenger RNA (mRNA) molecule is translated into a protein sequence composed of amino acids. Translation has three steps: initiation, elongation, and termination. During translation, different elements are required to initiate, continue and complete the process, which include essential molecules such as amino acids, mRNA, tRNAs, ribosomes, energy-carrying molecules (i.e., ATP, GTP), initiation factors (i.e., eIF1A, eIF3, etc) and elongation factors (eEF-2, EIF5A). For example, humans can't synthesize nine essential amino acids (i.e., threonine, tryptophan, phenylalanine, valine, methionine, leucine, histidine, isoleucine, lysine), thereby it is imperative to include these amino acids to synthesize proteins composed of them. On the other hand, it is also fundamental to take into account that the efficiency of transfection of the molecules required during translation, as well as the absence of modifications in the mature mRNA sequence, may alter the process in vitro.

In the lungs, oxygen diffuses into the blood and is loaded onto hemoglobin for transport. In the tissues, oxygen is unloaded fro
emmasim [6.3K]

Answer:

D. partial pressure of oxygen

Explanation:

Partial pressure refers to the force applied by an individual gas per unit area in a mixture of gases which is measured in mm of Hg. The partial pressure determines the movement of the gas molecule in the system.

In the given scenario, the oxygen transport through the blood along with other gases like carbon dioxide and other minute concentration but the gaseous exchange between the lungs and the blood, between the blood and the tissues depends on the partial pressure of the oxygen. The oxygen moves from the higher pressure to lower pressure therefore partial pressure is the determining factor.

Thus, Option-D is correct.

The unlimite source of energy for all living things is the
Arada [10]
The ultimate source of energy for living things is the Sun. Plants and other photosynthetic organisms take the energy from sunlight to make glucose. This energy passes to other organisms through the food chain.

A coyote, which can alter its food intake to match seasonal abundance of plants, fruits, or small animals, is considered to be _
love history [14]
The answer is a generalist, able to be flexible in major dimensions of its niche. In addition, as coyotes extended their variety they also extended their set menu. As soon as omnivores restricted by the grassland fauna of rabbits, mice, and insects they now resourcefully consume the whole thing from small mammals and birds to livestock and animals, bounties and vegetables, meat and trash. Their environment has also extended to contain a collection of natural and social altered environments as well as the woodlands, the savannahs and the swamplands, the parks and the golf courses, the suburban backyards, and the urban expansions.

Solution to improve the human diet based on the concept of anaerobic respiration
katen-ka-za [31]

When our body requires to more energy in the absence of oxygen it performs anaerobic respiration.

In the absence of oxygen the terminal electron acceptor , pyruvate produced form glycolysis  undergoes anaerobic respiration to produce lactic acid and replenish the NADH required for glycolysis for producing more ATP.
