The correct answer is B.

Freezing of glaciers would do absolutely nothing to the salinity, as for hot weather and evaporation would leave behind the salt and thus INCREASING the amount of salt to water in the ocean.

The condition that would most likely cause a decrease in the salinity of ocean water is a river flowing into the sea. This would make the salinity decrease, because rivers a fresh water and have no salt in them. Since ocean water is made up of salt, water with no salt mixing with water with a lot of salt will cause a decrease in the salinity. I know this answer, because I took a quiz on this, and the correct answer was a river flowing into the sea.

Discuss the steps that the animals cells breaks down glucose to produce usable energy
tigry1 [53]

Answer:

As the heart pumps, glucose is carried in the bloodstream to cells all over the animal’s body. Oxygen which enters the animal’s body through its respiratory system (lungs, gills, skin, or exoskeleton) is carried by its transport system (blood for many animals to every animal cell. Once the glucose and oxygen arrive in the cell they can go through a chemical reaction. Glucose reacts with oxygen to produce carbon dioxide and water. Cells transform the chemical energy in the glucose molecules into energy for cell functions, motion energy, and heat. Because of cellular respiration, muscle cells have access to the energy necessary to contract or relax in response to a signal from the brain sent through nerve cells, so muscles can contract or relax enabling the animal to move. During cellular respiration, energy is released in the cell to enable the work of the cell to occur. The atoms found in glucose are rearranged into carbon dioxide and water and are no longer needed by the cell so they are considered waste products. Cells have to get rid of unwanted waste products. Carbon dioxide and water move out of cells and into the blood. The blood carries the carbon dioxide and water to different places in different animals (the lungs, gills, skin, kidneys, or exoskeleton) where they are released into the environment. Animal movement we observe at the macroscopic scale is possible because cellular respiration is happening at the atomic-molecular scale.

Joe begins to experience mood swings and disturbed thirst and hunger. Imaging studies indicate that a brain tumor is the likely
const2013 [10]

Answer:

The correct answer will be-hypothalamus

Explanation:

A tumor is the group of abnormal cells formed due to uncontrolled division of the cells. When it is present in the brain is known as a brain tumor.

When tumor is formed in the brain, it presses the part of the brain physically and thus disrupts the functioning of that part of the brain.

In the given question, since the patient experiences the disturbing hunger and thirst which is controlled by the hypothalamus of the brain therefore the tumor would have formed in the hypothalamus.

Thus, -hypothalamus is the correct answer.

Review: Fill in the boxes with missing vocabulary Need Help: Click here Polymer Monomer Protein nucleotide
Rzqust [24]

Answer:

This question is asking for the polymer and monomer of nucleotide and protein respectively.

The answer is:

Protein - monomer is AMINO ACID

Nucleotide - polymer is NUCLEIC ACID

Explanation:

There are four major biological molecules found in nature namely: protein, carbohydrates, fats and oil, nucleic acid. These biological molecules are, however, complex and polymeric in nature and like every other polymer, they must contain monomers that make up their structure.

- PROTEINS are made up of monomers called AMINO ACIDS.

- CARBOHYDRATES are made up of monomers called MONOSACCHARIDES.

- LIPIDS are made up of monomers called FATTY ACIDS.

- NUCLEIC ACIDS are made up of monomers called NUCLEOTIDES.

Use what you have learned about the types of energy that travel from the Sun to Earth to match each term with its
iragen [17]

Answer:

radiation  = transfer of energy from the Sun

infrared radiation  = takes the form of heat

ultraviolet radiation  = causes skin cancer and sunburn

electromagnetic wave  = how Sun's energy travels to Earth

visible light  = made of colors that the eye can see

Explanation:

Radiation is the transmission of energy in the form of waves or particles through space or a vacuum or through a material medium. The energy produced by the sun is transferred to other bodies such as the earth through radiation.

Infrared radiation is a form of electromagnetic radiation that is invisible to the human eyes but that takes the form of heat energy.

Ultraviolet radiation is an invisible form of electromagnetic radiation. It is produced by the sun and overexposure to it can cause sunburns, skin cancer and possibly blindness.

Electromagnetic waves are waves that are produced as a result of vibrations between an electric field and a magnetic field. The energy from the sun travels in the form of electromagnetic waves.

Visible light is a form of electromagnetic wave produced by the sun as well, that makes up the visible colors that we can see such as red, blue, green, etc.
