The correct answer is A) Befriending the king of Kish as his cupbearer.

Sargon became cupbearer to the king of Kish, Ur-Zababa.

When the king of Umma, Lugalzagesi, came to conquer Kish, Ur-Zababa sent Sargon him to Lugalzagesi with a message, seeming to look for peace.

The message actually asked Umma’s king to kill Sargon. Lugalzagesi didn't kill him, instead, he invited Sargon to join his military campaign. He accepted, and they conquered Kish.
