Answer:

1. 5.101 x 10⁸ Km².

2. 71 %.

3. 3.769 Km.

4. 1360.6 x 10⁶ Km³ = 1.36 billion Km³.

5. 3.597 x 10²⁰ Gallon of water (359 quintillion gallons of water).

Explanation:

1. The surface area of the earth:

Recently, astronomy and the improvement of instrumentation and methodology to see the earth from the space and identifying the shape of the earth as a flattened sphere.

Then we can calculate the surface area of the earth from the relation (4πr²).

The radius of the earth is estimated to be 6371 Km.

The surface area of the earth = 4 π (6371)² = 5.101 x 10⁸ Km².

2. The percentage of Earth's surface covered by water:

The water percentage is about 71 % and the other 29 % is corresponding to the island and continents. So, the Earth appeared as a blue marble because water reflects the blue color.

3. The depth of the Earth's oceans:

The average depth of the oceans is about 3796 m = 3.769 Km.

It is noticed that the estimation of the oceans depth decreased over years which reflects more precise determination and estimation of the depth of oceans through years.

4. The volume of the Earth's oceans:

We can calculate the volume of the Earth's oceans by multiplying the area of the oceans by its depth (Area x depth).

The area of the oceans is estimated to be 361 x 10⁶ Km², and the depth is determined to be about 3.679 Km.

The volume of Earth's ocean = (361 x 10⁶ Km²) (3.679 Km) = 1360.6 x 10⁶ Km³ = 1.36 billion Km³.

5. The number of gallons in Earth's oceans:

The water occupies the estimated area of the oceans (1360.6 x 10⁶ Km³ = 1.360 x 10¹⁸ m³).

Knowing that (1 Gallon = 0.003785 m³), then the number of gallons of water in Gallons is equal 3.597 x 10²⁰ Gallon of water (359 quintillion gallons of water).

250 word narrative about your personal American cultural experience
8_murik_8 [283]
Hey there! Hello!

So, I don't want to write this for you (in fact, I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed to) since I can't exactly identify your personal experiences with American culture. But, I can give you some pointers for this narrative to base you writing on.

It helps to know exactly what the staples of American culture are. Basically, think of all of the things that makes America, America. What does the American experience mean to you? Is it the freedom to practice your religion, or have the ability to express yourself in the (legal) ways you choose? Is it the ability to enter and end relationships and marry whoever you want in the eyes of the law? Is it our diverse and multilingual nature? Is it the food that people first think of when they hear "Do you want American food for dinner?" Is it the artistic aspect of living here, where art museums, ability to major in art and writing, and general exposure to art and writing is common? Is it the prominence of music in our modern society? Is it the sports that bind the people of the nation together? Is it the (only sort-of limited) ability for LGBT people to live fearlessly in the eyes of the law and nation as a whole, with communities and help they can look to in their times of need?

What defines the experience for you? What's important to you as an American? That's what they're trying to get at with this assignment. Feel free to explore topics of American culture that go beyond the ones I have listed here, since there must be many more.

Hope this helped you out! Feel free to ask me any additional questions if you have any. :-)
