If the Articles of confederation were still in place today, American society would not look the same as it does today. The states would still be separated. Congress would not be tightly knit. Since congress had no power under the articles of confederation, the united states would not have a standing army. Congress could not raise taxes so of the United States needed help for any reason, they would not be able to raise the money. Trade would still be hard, and Great Britain would still be on American soil trading with the Native Americans.
