1. Non-essential - A title usually is the result of hard work, therefore, it's not necessary to include that appositive phrase.

2. Essential - It tells you who the Keystone Corps are.  Otherwise, you would have no idea.

1. Sentence B. Nonessential Appositive phrase : "<em>the result of much hard work"</em> .  This information  is <u>not </u>needed for the sentence to have complete meaning. "The title was one of many Ash would win."

2. Sentence B. Essential Appositive phrase: <em>"popular silent film characters"</em> <u><em>contains information necessary for the meaning of the sentence</em></u>, explaining what Keystone Cops is.

3. Sentence B. Nonessential appositive phrase: <em>"the longest of my</em> <em>childhood</em>" is not needed for the meaning of "This vacation took one..."

All the nonrestrictive phrases above are correctly punctuated because they are between commas, in the middle of the sentences.
