1. African American women continued to suffer discrimination based upon gender and race.

2. Traditional family roles discouraged women from working outside the home.
I believe it might also be: The Supreme Court repeatedly upheld gender discrimination.

Because I know courts have historically used the reasonableness standard to limit women's right.
