PLEASE HELP! Anyone in band, pls give any pointers you know to help me play this piece better, I play alto saxophone! I'll mark

Answer:

Hey!  I also play the alto sax.  Some pointers I wish I would've had when I was starting out are:

-to try to only breathe at the end of phrases (usually four bars, or eight as your director instructs.) or where there are breath marks

-also, learn how to "tongue" phrases. You can practice by verbally "tss-ing"

-don't forget to play in key! If the key switches on you, (depressing, I know) you've got to switch with it.

-for this piece, you may want to set a metronome if you have one, (or maybe a friend who can keep a beat)

-it really depends on what you're struggling on in particular.

It always helps to learn the scales.  And find some music online or some books that you like.  Maybe songs you actually know.  The more fun it is, the more you actually want to practice!   And it being fun will definitely help.
