History

The question is unclear since after the Revolutionary War is not enough information. A specific date is required but I'll use two dates (1790 and 1860), Maryland had the following statistics:

- 208,649 Whites.

- 8,043 non-white free inhabitants (may include Native Americans).

- 103,036 African Slaves (Including those born in the US).

For a total of 319. 728 inhabitants, only 8,043 were free, that is roughly less than 3% percent of the population which means that the correct answer is:

d: no slaves

Since part of the free non-whites were probably Native Americans and if we use the date 1790 as referential.

If we use the date 1860, Maryland had the following statistics:

- 515,918 Whites.

- 83,942 non-white free inhabitants (may include Native Americans).

- 87,189 African Slaves (Including those born in the US).For a total of 515,918 inhabitants, only 83,942 were free, that is roughly over 16% of the population which means that the correct answer is, for this referential:

b: about 1/3 of the population

It is obvious that even after the Revolutionary War Slavery was thriving in Maryland.
