Personally, I think Casey is a great character to be analyzed. She has been through a lot throughout her life, and we can see her evolution and history throughout the development of the movie.

The interactions with the other characters are carried out with great intelligence and delicacy. For example, she tries to help her friends but from her wisdom, trying to advise them on what to do in relation to their kidnapper. Unfortunately her friends do not follow her advice and have a tragic end.

Casey, however, handles her relationship with her kidnapper as if he were "an animal". Recall that Casey spent her entire childhood hunting in the woods for which she has experience with "the beasts." She knows how to deal with her kidnapper and is smart, allowing her to survive.

In turn, Casey has gone through situations of physical and psychological abuse by her uncle. She can sense that Kevin has been through a similar situation, which gives her an advantage in knowing the things she should and should not do.

In conclusion, Casey's development from a girl who does not try to defend herself from her kidnapper as her friends do, to the revelation of her story and why it was more convenient for her to be quiet to survive, makes her a great character.

In the short essay "I Believe in the Also-Rans " by Clive B, the author attempts to remind the readers how achievements in schools and universities have very little to do once we enter the real world.

He thinks that humans are depressed because we glorify winning and achieving great heights too much. Clive realizes this when he notice how Cyrus, one among his daughter's two playmates, proclaims and shout in celebration that he won the third place in the race although there were only three of them.

It can also be used to modify the meaning of a poem or to elicit a "pause" and "reflection" from the reader.

White space is to a poet what the "pause for effect" is to the orator.

Don Paterson’s for instance in one of his works played a witty one with "white space".

He gives the poem a very long title (a 15-word caption which is uncommon with poems) then leaves the next page blank. Of course, this effect was very impactful and creative as if he intended to go instantly from a wordy sanguine to an introverted phlegmatic.

Annie Caldwell in an article "The White Space in Poetry" demonstrated the effect of white spaces by taking her old poem and rearranged it using white spaces without changing any of the words. The effect is that the poem took on a different meaning.
