Got you again my guy ;)

Some effects on the Islamic world were that some Arabs who were previously   Muslim or Pagan became Christians. This is more evident in countries that were affected firsthand by the crusades, like Lebanon, Syria and Palestine. If you go there now you will see churches and Arabs who are Christian.

Some effects on Western Europe were that the kings (and the Pope) became richer from what they got in the Middle East. They got more land as well, even though the control over the Holy Land was short-lived for the Christians during that time.
