I am sure we are all aware of the origins of our nation. When we were just a group of colonies, we decided to fight for our future, and for the promise of independence and sovereignty. We did not accept the argument that we were not ready to face such task. We rose to the occasion and came to enjoy a much more promising future.

I am here to tell you that India deserves the same. India has been controlled, colonized and abused by colonial powers, and is now seeking its independence. As Americans, I am sure we understand how important this is for a nation. If you are proud of our history of resistance and sovereignty, I urge you to support India's independence movement."
