The first nation states were in Europe, later to be renamed countries. Countries are a concept of similar cultures, beliefs and

people under one banner. However, due to the progression of man and development of societies, there are large populations of people within certain countries that are very different.

I agree with the idea of still having countries and borders because the purposes of border control, airports and seaports are also classed as borders. Most countries have some form of border control to regulate or limit the movement of people, animals, and goods into and out of the country and most countries prohibit carrying illegal drugs or endangered animals across their borders.
