Explanation:

A syllable is a part of a word that contains sounds (phonemes) of a word. It usually has a vowel in it. A syllable is also called a 'beat' and teachers often teach children to identify syllables by clapping the 'beats' in words. Another way to describe a syllable is a 'mouthful' of a word.

So, for example, 'book' has one syllable, and 'reading' has two syllables.and hope i helped u to understand it.

What can be inferred from this excerpt from Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens?
loris [4]
A. Workhouse authorities were extremely careless in their duties

This is because the passage doesn't say anything about children being weak due to poor nourishment nor parishioners wrongly criticizing their own officials, and if the legal system carefully monitored parish affairs then children wouldn't be getting scalded to death or overlooked.

I'm so hungry I could eat a horse what type of figurative language
RSB [31]
The type of figurative language would be hyperbole because the sentence is an extreme exaggeration that conveys a point. Normally, someone wouldn't eat a horse, even if they were hungry, but "I'm so hungry I could eat a horse" conveys the fact that you are hungry.
