Dear Jay,

How are you? I hope you, mom, and dad are doing fine! I am good here. I am writing to you to encourage you to take admission in my school.

At first, I was also not sure about my new school, though I heard a lot this school and it's academic curriculum. And, it is actually good. In this school, you have the options of choosing the subjects of choice, apart from compulsory courses. The curriculum is flexible here and equal focus is given to sports as well. As you have always wanted to be equally good in both academics and sports, so, I would encourage you to join my school. Please do visit the principal with mom and dad to talk about it and you can also take a look of my school as well.

Hope to see you soon and hear from you! Pay my regards and respect to mom and dad. And lots of love to you. Bye!

Yours Lovingly

Shyam

Exercise 1 Circle each prepositional phrase in the following sentences.
Mama L [17]

The students were encouraged (in) their efforts.

What is a preposition?

A preposition can be a word—usually a simple and frequent word that conveys direction like 'to' in "a letter to you," location like 'at' in "at the door," or time like 'by' in "by noon," and that introduces an accompanying object like 'of' in "a basket of apples." Prepositions are followed by an association object, which could be a noun (noon), a phrase (the door), or a closed-class word (you).

Some examples of prepositions

The most frequently used prepositions are at, by, for, from, in, of, on, to, and with. Concerning, above, across, after, against, along, among, around, because of, before, behind, below, beneath, beside, between, close to, down, during, except, inside, instead of, into, like, near, off are other common prepositions.

Since savings banks have to use short-term deposits to finance long-term fixed-rate mortgage loans, they sometimes lose money wh
amid [387]

Answer:

The correct answer is B: when short-term rates rise and they are unable to raise

Explanation:

When you look through all the choices, option D and E are first eliminated because they used "with" to start, when in fact the essay makes use of "when", which is correct. We want to have "when" in the sentences, hence we are left with three choices; A, B, and C.

Now, looking at the connectors of A, B, and C, Option A is connected with "on the other hand", Option B is connected with "and", while Option C is connected with "correspondingly".

"On the other hand" makes no sense as a connector because there is no contrast in the statement, and this eliminates option A. Similarly, it is incorrect to use "and" and "correspondingly", as this does not flow, thus eliminating C.

The correct answer is therefore B.
