In "Farming Like the Incas" by Cynthia Graber, she explains what made Incan farming so remarkable. They successfully farmed in the Andes, which are considered "some of the tallest, starkest, mountains" and were able to harvest on terrain that is steep and difficult to move on. They were able to overcome climate difficulties by building terraces, irrigation systems, and cisterns.

The article lists many ways in which the ancient Incas were productive farmers despite living in the rough landscape of the Andes, a rocky and desolate mountain region. While modern farmers have had difficulty farming in the region, traditional Incan farming methods remain successful even today. Incan farmers grew specific plants that were well-suited to the Andes. Also, the use of terraces, canals, and irrigation techniques allowed Incan farmers to maximize efficiency, which enabled their empire to grow.   -Edmentum or Apex answer

Had Poe’s short story been set in another time period, do you think the story would have been as effective? Explain in a 100-wor
elena55 [62]

Answer:

Yes, they would. Edgar Allan Poe's literature was a mixture of horror, tragedy, and comedy. And, although he was judged by it at a certain point in history, in the 20th century, some theorists realized the effect he had on contemporary writers.

Explanation:

Edgar Allan Poe's literature is known as one of the most intriguing, horrific, and complex ones. His works had a huge impact on the 19th century, being an accurate representation of how people felt and thought. It was highly criticized by a few detractors, nevertheless, in the second half of the 20th century, people started to recognize the influence he had on modern artists.
