Quadrilateral ABDE is a rectangle. DE = 4 in. and BD = 6 in. If the rectangle is rotated about a line through CF, cylinder Y is

created. If the rectangle is rotated about a line through GH, cylinder Z is created. Rectangle A B D E is shown. Point C is the midpoint of side D B, point G is the midpoint of side B A, point F is the midpoint of side E A, and point H is the midpoint of side D E. Side D E has a length of 4 inches and side B D has a length of 6 inches. What is the difference in the measures of the radii of cylinder Y and cylinder Z, in inches? 1 2 4 5

Answer:

1 in. is the answer.

Step-by-step explanation:

Solution: A Rectangle ABDE in which DE=4 inches and BD= 6 inches

There are two kinds of rotations

1. one along the Breadth, side having length 6 inches,i.e rotated along line GH,  Cylinder Z is created.

Radius of cylinder Z=6/2= 3 inches

2. Second along the Length, Side having length 4 inches,i.e rotated about a line CF, cylinder Y is created.

Radius of cylinder Y= 4/2= 2 inches

Difference in Radii= Radius of cylinder Z  -  Radius of cylinder Y

                              =  3 - 2= 1 inches

A population of 55 foxes in a wildlife preserve doubles in size every 14 years. The function y equals 55 times 2 Superscript x
Pavlova-9 [17]
Since <em>x</em> is the number of 14-year periods, the first thing we do is divide 28 years by 14. 28/14=2.  Now we use that in our function, y=55*2^x.

y=55*2^2=55*4=220
There will be 220 foxes after 28 years.

vampirchik [111]

Answer:

D) 1000

Step-by-step explanation:

<u><em>The options of the question are</em></u>

A) -1000 B) -7 C) 7 D) 1000

we know that

The sea level is the reference value to represent elevation, and it is considered as zero level.

Above sea level is considered positive and below the sea level is considered negative

we have

New Orleans is 7 feet below sea level

so

New Orleans elevation is -7 ft

Oklahoma is 1000 feet above the sea level

so

Oklahoma elevation is +1000 ft

therefore

Oklahoma City's elevation is represented by 1000

Harman [31]

Answer:

C. Sample: listings in a local newspaper and on an Internet sitePopulation: all available apartments near the college

Step-by-step explanation:

The sample is the set of information Greg collects to do his estimation. The sample is necessarily a subset of the population. That is, in this case, the apartments listed in the local newspaper and the internet. He will estimate a mean rent for the sample and, with this result, estimate the population mean rent.

The population is the bigger set available for Greg to do the estimation, and the set he wants to estimate a parameter from (in this case, the mean rent).

In this case, the population is all the apartments near the college.
