How did the South's economy benefit from the end of Reconstruction?

The answer is: There was an increase in federal money for railroads and ports.

After the events of the Civil War much of the South was left devastated and thus one of the goals the federal government had in order to reunify the south was to first reconstruct it.

By implementing a reconstruction plan, the federal government invested money and infrastructure into the region in order to help industrialize and help push forward the southern economy.

<span>This allowed farms to grow larger as they could now do more work in a quicker fashion and feed more people. This also put more work on the machinery than on the farmers, where before farmers were out for many hours just to get a small amount of work done, they could accomplish more in the same time frame without it being as physically straining.</span>

To ensure ratification by all states, supporters of the Constitution (Federalists) agreed to add a group of amendments that would serve as the Bill of Rights. Many against the Constitution ( Anti-Federalists ) refused to ratify unless such individual rights were protected.
