Answer:

Calypso is warning Odysseus against returning home for it will only bring pain and suffering for him. Also, she is indirectly offering him to stay on her island and be made immortal.

Explanation:

Homer's <em>The Odyssey</em> revolves around the journey of Odysseus and his men after the Trojan War. The journey back to their home in Ithaca is not a smooth one though, for they encountered numerous obstacles on the way.

In Book V, Zeus had sent Hermes to tell Calypso to release Odysseus from being held captive in her island and let him go home. Though angered that she is not allowed to keep her mortal, she had to obey the orders of the highest and strongest of the gods. Once Hermes had gone, Calypso told Odysseus that he must start preparing for his journey home. But she warned him that <em>"there's heartbreak and shipwreck in store"</em> for him when he gets home. This warning is a sort of invitation to Odysseus to stay with her and be made immortal but Odysseus declined, stating that he'd prefer to be at home with his wife Penelope and grow old.

In ancient Greek society, home and one's own family are the most important things in their lives. No matter what they may have done or gone to, the feeling of being back home amongst one's loved ones compels them to return home, no matter the difficulty of the obstacles. Despite Calypso's warning of pain and suffering on his return home, Odysseus declined the offer to be immortal and enjoy life on the island with Calypso.

WILL MARK BRANLIEST!!!!!!!!! HELP ASAP!!!!!!! EASY. CAN BE ABOUT ANYTHING
mihalych1998 [28]

Here's one example of a 'free verse stanza of poetry.

"Who am I?" -

Who am I, you ask?

I am a lion who comes off as a lamb.

I am an ocean with waves big enough to drown.

I am a roller coaster of emotions.

I am a hater of ignorant people, liars,

And people who use others for a gain.

I am a lost soul, a naive child.

I am one who has seen enough

That would make most people's skin crawl.

I am me, not you.

I am who I am.

Judging me is only a negative reflection on you.

So who am I, you ask?

I am me...just me.

One identification of how my poem can be considered a free verse because many people go threw many questions and common life problems. People may forget what they are and what their life meaning is. So this can be a 'free verse'.

Scrat [10]

The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock is a piece by T. S. Eliot. The piece uses the ceaseless stream technique to tell a discourse of a regular individual.

<h3>Which best describes the meaning of these lines?</h3>

Correct answer is Option A

  • The speaker feels hesitant to take action because he is insecure about himself.

In this sonnet, the principle character, Prufrock, is attempting to assemble the fortitude to pose a vital inquiry to a lady. What's more he discusses how he has figured out how to change and adjust to the social way of life of his circle.

While he is discussing posing or not the inquiry, choice that he at last decreases, he contemplates whether by posing this inquiry he would establish an unevenness on the climate that he has adjusted to.

This man encounters outrageous withdrawal and misery. Furthermore, he feels unequipped for taking action to change his situation. He has no conviction on his abilities, which prompts immense disappointment and a mourn over lost opportunities.

Therefore, correct answer is option A.
