Vonnegut uses satire to expose which societal

English

Tasya [4]3 years ago

Answer:

I believe it's the last one.

Explanation:

One needs to look now farther than the first paragraph to realize that Vonnegut's tale is laced with irony and satire.  The strongest hint is when he mentions that there are over 100 ammendments in the Constitution.  All these ammendments are designed to make society "perfect."  Later on George and his wife Hazel are discussing how George's handicaps, the bags of birdshot tied to his legs, are terribly inconvenient and painful.  Hazel suggests George break a law and remove the bags since he isn't competing against anyone at home.  George replies that if he broke the law so would others and they'd end up right back in the "Dark Ages".  These examples depict there is no such thing as a perfect society.  Equality does not bring about perfection and competition is essential for a thriving economy.  In every society there are winners and losers.

Sorry if i'm wrong.

Hello. So the word accomplish would match with “to succeed in doing or finishing, especially something that requires effort.” And influence would match with, “the power, or intangible action of one thing or person which brings about an effect on another.”

Hope this helps :)

stellarik [79]

Answer:

1. I Ana had known the answer, she would have raised her hand.

2. Mr. Diaz would have been on time to work if he had taken the bus.

3. If Angela hadn't brought a jacket, Luis would have given her his coat.

4. Sofia would have bought a new cell phone if she had had enough money.

5. If Mrs. Garza had known how cold it was outside, she would have worn a coat.

6. If Adriana had realized how tired she was, she wouldn't have stayed out so late.

7. If Javier had checked his watch, he would have known how late it was.

8. If we had known how late the bus was going to be, we wouldn't have waited for it.

Explanation:

This question requires knowledge about the third conditional.

<u>The third conditional is used in English to express hypothetical situations in the past. In other words, we are imagining possibilities about something that has already happened.</u> For example, suppose you forgot to bring some money with you. Because of that, you weren't able to buy a jacket you saw that was on sale. You can imagine how things would have been: "If I had brought some money, I would have bought that jacket."

The structure of the third conditional is the following:

if + had (not) + past participle, would/could/might (not) + have + past participle

The if clause will not necessarily be the first one every time. Take a look at the examples below:

- She would have told you if she had known how important it was to you.

- If you had talked to me about it, we could have found a better way to do it.

- If Mario hadn't moved away, he and Dana would have gotten married.

‼️⚠️THE GIVER QUESTIONS PLZ HELP⚠️‼️
igomit [66]

Answer:

Now that Jonas can ask questions, he realizes how overwhelming it can be for one person to receive so much information.

Explanation:

Jonas discovers all the truths about human behavior. Being able to ask questions and now have access to the memories, he is overwhelmed by all these new feelings.

Some are pleasant, but others not so much. And this helps him understand why everyone else in the community is not allowed to ask questions.

Each of these memories completely overwhelms Jonas who does not understand very well what he is seeing, since it is something new to him.

Let's look at the following quote:

<em>"There was a question bothering Jonas. "Sir," he said, "The Chief </em>

<em>Elder told me - she told everyone - and you told me, too, that it </em>

<em>would be painful. So I was a little scared"</em>
