Answer:

The correct answer is D. The conflict that lasted 13 days and threatened global nuclear war was the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Explanation:

The Cuban Missile Crisis was a conflict between the United States, the Soviet Union and Cuba in October 1962, generated by the discovery by the United States of bases of Soviet medium-range nuclear missiles in Cuban territory.

The crisis covered the period between the discovery of the R-12 and R-14 medium-range ballistic missiles of the Soviet Union (October 15, 1962) until the announcement of their dismantling and transfer back to the Soviet Union (28 October 1962). That is, everything happened in a period of 13 days.

5. List some of the benefits colonial rulebrought to Southeast Asia. Do youthink these benefits outweighed thedisadvantages? Why
andre [41]

Answer:

Some benefits that colonial rule brought to Southeast Asia were that initiated a modern economic system, there were roads, highways, and railroads built, and the development of an export market created a entrepreneurial class of people in rural areas. Even though most of the profits went back to the colonial mother country, some growers of rubber, palm oil, coffee, tea, and spices made profits. I think the disadvantages outweighed the advantages because they still didn't have a lot of freedom and couldn't freely trade how they wanted to.

Describe the characteristics of Greek and Roman historigraphy
labwork [276]

Answer:

Roman historiography stretches back to at least the 3rd century BC and was indebted to earlier Greek historiography. The Romans relied on previous models in the Greek tradition such as the works of Herodotus and Thucydides. Roman historiographical forms are usually different from their Greek counterparts, however, and often emphasize Roman concerns. The Roman style of history was based on the way that the Annals of the Pontifex Maximus, or the Annales Maximi, were recorded. The Annales Maximi include a wide array of information, including religious documents, names of consuls, deaths of priests, and various disasters throughout history. Also part of the Annales Maximi are the White Tablets, or the "Tabulae Albatae", which consist of information on the origin of the Roman Republic.

Hellenic historiography involves efforts made by Greeks to track and record historical events. By the 5th century BC, it became an integral part of ancient Greek literature and held a prestigious place in later Roman historiography and Byzantine literature.
