Write 0.0123 in dcientific notation
likoan [24]

Answer:

scientific notation, the number to the left of the x must be between 1 and 10, so you have to move the decimal place until that happens - which in this case means moving it 2 digits to the right.

the x 10^ is standard, the only thing you need to change is the exponent. a negative exponent means you move the decimal to the left, and a positive exponent means to the right. you just count how many decimal places you have to move to get from 1.23 to .0123, and in which direction. here, you have to move it 2 places to the left, so you end up with 1.23 x 10^-2

<u>Question 19:</u> 177 bpm
<u>Question 20:</u> 95˚F

Explanations:
<u>Question 19:</u>
You had the formula set up properly like this:
R =  \frac{885 \sqrt{25} }{25}  =  \frac{885(5)}{25}  =  \frac{4425}{25}
This is where you went wrong - I don't know exactly what you did, but your division of 4425 ÷ 25 is wrong. You should have ended up with 177 which is the correct answer.
<u>Question 20:</u>
You had the formula set up correctly again, and merely used the wrong sign when adding 32.
F =  \frac{9(35)}{5} + 32 =  \frac{315}{5} + 32
This is where you went wrong. You subtracted 32 from 63 when you should have added it. (See red circle on your subtraction.)
63 + 32 = 95˚F
