first Multiply the first fraction by the reciprocal of the second fraction.

in the first place we should multiply 1 by 5 and write it over the new fraction and then multiply 2 by -2 and write it under the new fraction, this way you will get 5/-4

Then we Rewrite them like -5/4 + -1/4 = -6/2 and simplify it to -3/2 .

hope it can help . ^^

kari74 [83]

Answer:

The phrases that are examples of imagery are:

B. He breathed upon the great rocks and lumps of earth;

C. the Moon rose big and full over the water.

Explanation:

Imagery is a literary device an author uses when he/she wishes to appeal to the five senses (sight, taste, touch, smell and hearing). The purpose is to involve the readers and help them visualize what is being described. In the excerpt, phrases B and C appeal to the readers senses. They can actually imagine the scenery, the rocks and lumps of earth, as well as the moon's size and shape.
