How might an intense solar storm affect people on Earth?
dimaraw [331]

An intense solar storm can have huge effect on the people and their lives. On a short term, the Earth will receive increased sunlight and because of it heat, so despite that being a problem it will not be a dramatic one. The biggest problem will the damaging effect of the radiation on the satellites and the electronic systems. If the satellites are destroyed, than the world will not be able to communicate on longer distances, with the majority of information and media being totally out. Further, all the systems that use electricity can be damaged, and that can leave the people in a situation where they will not be able to use anything of the items they are so used and dependent on, and leaving us in darkness. In a way, it can return the humans back to the stone age in just few minutes.

What are some examples of how Muslim nations in the Middle East had a major economic influence on western Europe?
ANEK [815]

Two major examples of how the Middle East and its Muslim nations influenced the economy of Western Europe are:

  • Fossil fuels
  • Sugar trade

The fossil fuels in the Middle East drove the energy requirements of Western Europe with relation to crude oil such that the Western Europeans sought to control the area by any means necessary.

The sugar trade was also influential because sugar was mostly controlled by Muslims and until the Europeans got to the New World, they had to rely on the Muslims of the Middle East for it.

In conclusion, sugar and oil from the Middle East were very influential on Western Europe's economy.
