Answer: By moderating your attention degree to the pain/disease stimuli, you can feel more or less pain sensation. When you pay attention to a certain stimulation, it starts to govern your behavior towards the stimulus, and your thalamus is more active. While distracted, the pre-frontal cortex region is more active, and this region is responsible for diminishing the pain feeling. Understanding how some regions of the nervous system work can, thus, help on alleviate those sensations.

Answer:

Explanation:

The nervous system comprehends the brain, the spinal marrow and a complex web of cells and nerves. The main function of the nervous system is to carry messages from the brain and to the brain.

The nervous system can be divided in two; the central nervous system (brain and spinal marrow) and the peripheral system (nervous web that links the rest of the body with the central nervous system).

The nerves are part of the peripheral system. There are two types; sensitive nerves and movement nerves - although the majority of them are a mix. One of the functions of the nerves is to transport sensory signs like pain into the central nervous system.

A direct relation presents itself involving knowledge of the central nervous system and pain. The more we know about the variables of the nervous system, the more we understand how pain is produced, transported and interpreted. When we understand those variables, we are able to control them and, reduce or stop a stimulus like pain.

A disease can be defined as an abnormal functioning of a component of the human body. This abnormal functioning can be cause by external agents (pathogens) or internal causes. As presented above, a direct relation can be established between the understanding of the nervous system and disease. The more we know about the way our body interprets pathogens and stimulus, the more we can controlled them.

The translation is a process responsible for acting as a messenger molecule.

Explanation:

 • A protein is formed from the information in the molecule of messenger and this process is known as translation. The ribosome is the structure where translation occurs.
 • Synthesis of protein takes place in ribosomes. The information stored in DNA is eventually decided to form a protein.
 • This DNA makes a molecule to carry information from the nucleus to cytoplasm and it acts as a messenger.
 • The process of making the messenger molecule is called translation.

During warmer parts of the day, fish will be found in deeper waters of a lake. Which statement best explains this phenomena with
Gennadij [26K]

Answer:

The statement that can best explain why during the warmer parts of the day, fish are found in deeper waters of a lake is that warmth lowers the oxygen concentration near the surface.

Explanation:

Organisms in any aquatic ecosystem require oxygen to perform their functions and survive. But the availability of dissolved oxygen in water, especially at the surface, can be affected by environmental temperature.

 • Warm temperature decreases the dissolution of oxygen in the lake surface water, encouraging fish to move to deeper areas.
 • Lower temperatures increase the dissolution and availability of water at the surface, so fish can be found closer to the surface when the weather is cold.

This behaviour of dissolution / availability of oxygen at the lake surface can be observed with seasonal changes or with temperature changes between day and night.

Movement of the chromosomes during anaphase would be most affected by a drug that prevents which of the following events in mito
xxMikexx [17]

The correct answer is: C) shortening of microtubules

Chromosome movement is possible thanks to changes in microtubule length. Several types of microtubules are involved. First, during the anaphase kinetochore microtubules shorten and consequently the chromosomes move toward the spindle poles. Then the astral microtubules that are anchored to the cell membrane pull the poles further apart. At the end of anaphase, the interpolar microtubules slide past each other and that additionaly separate the chromosomes.
