What role did the principles of the American and French Revolutions play in the slave uprisings of Gabriel and Desmondes?

Just as in the American revolution the Americans were able to get independence and freedom from Britain by fighting with violence, so the slave revolts believed they could get freedom from slavery, by fighting with violence.

The French Revolution failed I am not sure what that has to do with it.

During the American Revolution, Gabriel was an artisan who played a significant role by indulging among the urban workers who caused the war. He witnessed and took part in the battle to fight against the British in colonies to end their authority in America. After independence, the Republican ideology of the Revolution and the arrogant of the Democratic helped Gabriel ideas in leading a Slave Revolt. Gabriel was also fully aware that the French Revolution had served to start the slave revolt in Haiti in 1791.
