Which of these ancient documents recorded a set of laws for society?
Olenka [21]

The ancient document that records a set of laws for society is option C) The Code of Hammurabi. This code is dated about 1754 BC and was enacted by Babylonian king Hammurabi. The Hammurabi code of law includes 282 laws that describe trade, slavery, divorce, theft, adultery, among other important concepts for society. This ancient code is the oldest and largest found and was discovered in 1901.

Option A is incorrect since “The Epic of Gilgamesh” is the oldest epic tale written.

Option B is also incorrect since “The Enuma-Elish” is a Babylonian myth of a thousand lines written on clay tables

And option D is also incorrect since “The Sumerian King List” is an ancient document recorded on a stone tablet with the list of the Sumerian kings and dynasties.

What was the Sedition of Act 1918 and do you believe it depends on someone's freedom of speech, Why or Why not?
zaharov [31]
The Sedition Act of 1918 (Pub.L. 65–150, 40 Stat. 553, enacted May 16, 1918) was an Act of the United States Congress that extended the Espionage Act of 1917 to cover a broader range of offenses, notably speech and the expression of opinion that cast the government or the war effort in a negative light or interfered with the sale of government bonds. In my opinion, the United States Government enacting this law was bad because it limited free speech during a time of war and they didn’t want to look bad so they basically told their citizens to shut up. People should be allowed to say what they want without getting arrested for it, but at the time the United States was trying to win a war so they clamped down hard on anyone who opposed the war effort. The targets of prosecution under the Sedition Act were typically individuals who opposed the war effort, including pacifists, anarchists, and socialists. Violations of the Sedition Act could lead to as much as twenty years in prison and a fine of $10,00”. More than two thousand cases were filed by the government under the Espionage Act of 1917 and the Sedition Act of 1918, and of these more than one thousand ended in convictions. The Sedition Act of 1918 was repealed in 1920, although many parts of the original Espionage Act remained in force.

How did the “Great Migration” contribute to changes in 1920's America?
Furkat [3]

Answer:

hope you like it

Explanation:

Migrants and their children created the Harlem Renaissance, changed the sound of the blues music that they brought north with them, desegregated sports, and became involved in politics. The Great Migration arguably was a factor leading to the American civil rights movement.

The Great Migration also began a new era of increasing political activism among African Americans, who after being disenfranchised in the South found a new place for themselves in public life in the cities of the North and West. The civil rights movement directly benefited from this activism.
