Absolutist governments in Europe were different because they believed in sovereignty.
This is the belief that the king holds all powers and abilities to rule.
Powers are not even given to the nobles or any of the assembly within the government.
The breakup of the Soviet Union ended basically ended the Cold War as they were the reason there was war. When they Soviet Union broke up the US was relieved and a new government was created to replace the soviets.
