It began with the Louisiana Purchase. People migrated to the west for economic reasons. The Westward expansion is one of the main reason people migrated to the West. People traveled about 7 months to pry for silver in Nevada. To add on, people had an opportunity to own land cheaply under the Homestead Act, and jobs were available in the west.

Case law is the mutiplies of past legal decisions written by courts. In which the law was analyzed using these cases to resolve ambiguities for deciding current cases. (Basiclly meaning this case can affect future cases if needed)
