Answer:

L=18cm

W=10cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data

let the length be x

L=x

Width= x-8

W= x-8

Perimeter= 56cm

But we know that the perimeter is expressed as

P=2L+2W

substitute our data

56=2(x)+2(x-8)

56=2x+2x-16

56+16=4x

72=4x

divide both sides by 4

x= 72/4

x=18cm

Hence the Length is 18cm

L=18cm

The width= 18-8

W=10cm

The length of pathway is 10 inches on map.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Total distance = 350 miles

According to map,

1 inch = 35 miles

Let, x be the number of inches on map.

Therefore, using proportion;

Inch : mile :: inch : mile

1:35::x:350\\

Product of mean = Product of extreme

35*x=350*1\\35x=350\\

Dividing both sides by 35;

\frac{35x}{35}=\frac{350}{35}\\x=10

The length of pathway is 10 inches on map.

BRAINLIEST ANSWER TO FIRST ANSWERER <br><br> What is the value of x?
grigory [225]
It's really simple

if a+95=180 you solve for a

a+95=180
-95 -95
a=85

a triangle in total is 180 degrees

now that you know two of the angles find x is really easy

you add 60+85

you get 145

you then subtract 180-145

and get 35 as the answer

x=35
