If you really want to make a difference in your community, then you can start by helping out in your community. Volunteering is

a way you can make a difference. Start by thinking about what you like to do. Then look for an organization that might be a good match for you and volunteer there. For example, if you like animals, volunteering to walk the dogs at your local animal shelter would be a good fit. You can make a difference in your community by giving your time and energy.
If you want to make a difference in your neighborhood, then you can start by assessing what needs to be done or who might need help. Look around for elderly neighbors who might need help taking their trash and recycling out or mowing their grass. Check the area for trash and pick that up. Volunteering your time in your neighborhood can bring people there closer together.

If you want to make a difference in your own household, then you can start by asking your parents what they need help with. Offer to help with neglected household chores and unfinished projects. Volunteer to baby-sit younger siblings or help them with their homework without being asked. Pitching in and helping brings families closer together and makes households function a lot better.
