Thomas Jefferson and his party believed in an agrarian community. Alexander Hamilton rather believed in a strong federal government dependent on industries. He thought the creation of a national debt would help the US because it would develop good credit with other nations which would give the US good standing to receive loans. Hamilton even founded the first national Bank of America. His view on government was more centralized then what Jeffersonians wanted. Jeffersonians were the ones who believed firmly in state rights and limited federal interference. This cause arguments between the two parties.
