There are five elements to a story. The first element in a story is the setting. For example, it was a dark and stormy night. That is the setting of a story. The second element in a story are the character. Generally, there is a main character, and or secondary characters and supporting characters. Also there are different types of those characters such as round, flat, static, etc...The third element in a story is the plot. Which is basically what happens overall. The fourth element in a story is the conflict. Which generally involves the main character and can be anything from a fight scene to internal conflicts. Lastly, every story should have a theme, moral, or a lesson learned even if it is not made that appearent.
