The Cotton States and International Exposition Speech addressed a topic of race relations. This speech laid a foundation and began the Atlanta Compromise. This is a compromise between the Southern whites and the African Americans. This is where the whites agreed to meet the African Americans' needs.

In the speech "The Atlanta Exposition Address" by Booker T. Washington, he addresses the need that African Americans need to have the same economic opportunities, as white people, before political rights can be achieved. This passage is addressed towards African Americans to continue to fight for their rights. He says: "cast down your bucket where you are" this small statement is small but powerful in that it tells African Americans to stop their work of hard labor and fight for the right to have equal economic opportunities. He appeals to ethos by both appealing to African Americans in that they need to fight for their rights and also to white people in that hiring African Americans would help the economy a great deal.

The Dragon was fire-breathing and melted the sword causing Beowulf to battle without a weapon. The blood of the Dragon was poisonous and when he did bite Beowulf, he died. Wiglaf went back to fight the Dragon and later was sent back to the cave to get some of the treasure he won over for Beowulf.
