Which technique does propaganda primarily use?
ethos
pathos
logos
davros
avanturin [10]

Among the options, the rhetorical device or technique primarily used by propaganda is:

B. Pathos

The three rhetorical devices as explained by Aristotle are ethos, logos, and pathos.

Ethos appeals to the speaker's authority, logos to logic or reason, and pathos to emotion.

The purpose of those devices is the convince the audience of something.

Propaganda relies primarily on pathos. It tries to evoke an emotion from the audience to convince them to do something.

Secondly, it will use ethos, appealing to authority, to what an expert says.

The last choice will be logos, and it is only used when it supports the other devices.

Think, for example, of war propaganda trying to convince people to go to war. War is not reasonable. Asking someone to die is also quite foolish.

In order to convince someone to do it, propaganda would evoke feelings of rage against the enemy, of love and protection towards one's family, etc.

With that in mind, we can choose letter B as the best option.

In this excerpt from Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, what does the description of the attire of the strange man say of his soci
mr_godi [17]

The attire of Bertilak, the mysterious Green Knight who challenges the knights of the Round Table, is described in the medieval text in detail in lines 161-172, where we can read that "Bothe the bosses on his belt and other bright gems / That were richly ranged on his raiment noble". The word noble indicates indeed his social status; it grants him his high position in the court. Additionally, the fact that precious stones and metals are part of his attire also reflects the lavishness of the royalty and the court.

Which material did egyptian and roman artists paint frescos on? a. silk b. paper c. plaster d. wood
FrozenT [24]
The right answer here is C - Plaster. Egyptian and Roman artists chose to paint frescos on plaster because it was a material readily available to them that managed to create excellent results. This particular technique of mural painting involved using water to merge paint pigments and the plaster itself, and there are some truly beautiful examples of art from the ancient world created in this way.
