How did the belief in a connection between magic and heresy affect the roles of men and women during the Reformation?
Andrei [34K]

The correct answer is C) Men and women accused of being witches were considered heretics and often killed.

During the Reformation, at the beginning of the Modern Era, the Catholic Church established a link between sorcery and heresy in order to use it as a political tool to keep the Catholic orthodoxy among the people. This political tool consisted in extending fear of the Devil and of the punishment (torture and murder) by the Inquisition for adhering to heretic doctrines. The belief in this connection was rapidly adopted by the new Protestant churches and witch hunt was widespread across Europe from the 16th century to the 18th century. Most of the condemned people were women, with an estimated of nearly 100 thousand people killed for witchcraft.

How might the effectiveness of the League of Nations contribute to the<br> start of WWII?
s344n2d4d5 [400]

Answer: Their efforts to keep peace ended in more bloodshed

Explanation:To ensure that nothing as terrible as World War I ever happened again, the Allied Powers created the Treaty of Versailles and then the League of Nations in order to maintain peace. However, these did not work well, and this in conjunction with the Great Depression caused Germany to become an aggressor. Appeasement in Europe allowed it to continue until finally, Germany’s behavior could no longer be tolerated. Therefore, the failure of the League of Nations was the primary cause of World War II because it led to a series of events that triggered German aggression, ultimately causing World War II.
