I think that becoming a victim of peer pressure is same as following the crowd. Peer pressure is the influence exerted by ones mate to follow their course of action or way of life. In school, young ones are faced with peer pressure when they are made to engage in conduct they ordinarily would not have because of the pressure exerted on them by their mates. This is the same as following the crowd.

To follow the crowd is to do what other people are doing. Therefore, when a person succumbs to peer pressure, he or she is following the crowd.
