In the late 1800s, after treaties and reservations failed, the United States Army went to war with American Indians in the West.
Georgia [21]
I’ll give you two:

Yes: The “War” on the Indians was not a traditional war of declaration but of skirmishes. When wagon trains of people headed West Indians would commonly target them for raids and pillage, so along many routes forts where built and patrols would try and make sure they were safe. If the problem became worse the local garrison would find the tribe and come with a list of demands. Most of the time they were fired upon arrival out of fear or anger. This would lead to a small battle or skirmish which would likely cause collateral damage.

No: The wars raged in the west against the Indians were that of near genocide, and to call it anything but is misleading. To claim that the slaughter of hundreds of innocent people was a “battle” is absurd and shouldn’t be considered. Though in films that depict such events are dramatized and inaccurate, situations much like those were taking place around the west yearly.

Why should we study Thomas Jefferson
777dan777 [17]
Jefferson was the primary/main author of the Declaration of Independence. He was one of the main people who founded the basic principles and liberties that we can still have the honor of enjoying today. He also was the founding father who kept the government from going out of control. He was also the second Vice President and was the third President of the United States.

What role did the Catholic Church play in people's lives during the Middle Ages?
monitta

Answer:

During the high Middle Ages, the Roman Catholic Church became organized into an elaborate hierarchy with the pope as the head in western Europe. He establish supreme power.

Many innovations took place in the creative arts during the high Middle Ages.

Literacy was no longer merely requirement among the clergy.

Even so, the Church maintained its power and exercised enormous influence over people's daily lives from the king on his throne to the peasant in the field. The Church regulated and defined an individual's life, literally, from birth to death and was thought to continue its hold over the person's soul in the afterlife, and most of Europe was Catholic so the Church had a grasp on most of the population.

The church building was the center of community activity and many parts of daily life. Religious services were held several times a day.

Town meetings, plays, and concerts were also held in churches.

Merchants had shops around the square in front of the church. Farmers sold their produce in the

square, and markets, festivals, and fairs were held there, as well.

I am a Christian, but I have learned about many things in my past years.

I hope all of you stay safe,

and God bless you!
