In this excerpt from his first address to Parliament, in what two ways does Winston Churchill arouse patriotic feelings in his a

udience?
we shall not flag nor fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France and on the seas and oceans; we shall fight with growing
confidence and growing strength in the air. We shall defend our island whatever the cost may be; we shall fight on beaches, landing
grounds, in fields, in streets and on the hills. We shall never surrender and even if, which I do not for the moment believe, this island or a
large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, will carry on the
struggle until in God's good time the New World with all its power and might, sets forth to the liberation and rescue of the Old.

Best answers are B and D

B) He inspires loyalty to the homeland by referring to the beaches, streets, and hills of Great Britain.

D) He creates optimism and determination by constantly repeating that Great Britain will never surrender.

He repeatedly states where "we shall fight", giving the idea that surrender is not an option. He describes the potential of a fight in Great Britain, and even says that the fight will continue from the other parts of the Empire if Great Britain falls.

Hitman42 [59]

Answer:

Coraline realized that she should have valued what she had (her parents ). Coraline acknowledges how even though her life and the people she was surrounded by, were imperfect, they were the real ones. After acknowledging this, she finds out that she could never leave them again, and how she wouldn't take anything for granted ever again. She also learns how to depend on her resources and to be strong to fight for those she loves.

Why was Jarvis so angry at Ryan? Was Ryan the one to blame?
ELEN [110]

Answer:

Ryan was not there for Jarvis when he needed him the most at a time of crisis. It can be said that this was Ryan's fault that Jarvis was now in trouble with his family over something so petty. Ryan should have been a better friend to him regardless of whatever was at stake for him personally, it does not justify his behavior towards Jarvis' plight.
